No events are planned that night at Scotiabank Place so traffic should be flowing as well as can be expected. Directions: (591-9699 home; 447-8726 cell): Queensway West from downtown - - the Q'way shrinks from 4 lanes down to 2 just past the exit you want; keep to the right lane (the one closest to the bus lane) after you crest the hill; it should move the fastest and is the lane you need to be in anyway - take Eagleson Rd/March Rd exit. - turn right onto March Rd - at 2nd traffic light, turn left onto Teron Rd (if you go past Metro grocery store, you've gone too far) - immediately turn right onto Steacie Dr - at the stop sign, turn left onto Casson Way - go to the top of the small hill, to the next stop sign - you're now facing W. Erskine Johnston Public School (you've passed a sign for Jackson Court but just ignore it--I'm at the other end of the Court and there are many, many speedbumps in between) - left onto Varley Dr - take first left onto Jackson Court across from Georges Vanier Catholic School - go to the end of the small street and turn right (you're still on Jackson Court) - #45 is at the end on your left- look for the number on the globe light on the lawn and tiny plastic tree with green lights near garage - there are 2 parking spots in my driveway and you can also park on the street (there's no visitor parking so don't bother looking for it). If you'd prefer a parking lot instead of on-street parking, drop off your potluck items at the house and then go back to the parking lot at Georges Vanier School. It's a short walk (one block) back to my place. No snow is predicted for Friday so you should be fine parking on the street, though. Carling Avenue - - west on Carling past Herzberg Road - next left onto Richardson Side Road (across from Bourk's Garage) - straight through the lights at March Road - immediately turn right onto Steacie Dr - follow directions above from that point from Dunrobin - - right turn onto Teron (first right after Metro grocery store) - immediately turn right onto Steacie Dr - follow directions above from that point If you're coming by bus, it's easy on Express buses 65 or 60. Route 60 will drop you off on Teron near the corner of March Road, right behind my house. Route 65 will drop you off on Varley Drive at Georges Vanier Catholic School and it's a short 1 block walk to my house. If not taking an express bus, use OC Transpo's trip planner to find the buses you need from either Eagleson or Terry Fox Transit Stations. After song circle, I can drop you off at the Eagleson Transit Station to catch a bus heading east or west on the Q'way. The 12 is more direct and runs more often but the 9 is a prettier route. Bus #12 destination Blair Road; get off at the third stop after the bridge: Cyr Road. Walk to the light at Hannah, cross Montreal and walk north three blocks; turn left at Ethel. My house is close to the corner. Bus #9 destination Hurdman; this one goes up Dalhousie and along Sussex, then goes south on Crichton which becomes Vanier Parkway. Get off at the second stop after Beechwood: Deschamps. Cross Vanier Parkway and take the little pathway just north of Deschamps, which leads to Carillon. Walk east on Carillon to Baribeau, north on Baribeau and east on Ethel. By bus from points east, take the #12 and get off at Olmstead, across Montreal Road from the LCBO. Walk west to Hannah and proceed as above. By bus from points south, get yourself to Hurdman Station with any bus that goes there, and take the #9 north along Vanier Parkway, getting off at the next stop after Montreal Road, which is Deschamps. Follow walking directions from there as above. I hope to sing with lots of you this Friday. It is my birthday next Tuesday, so we will be doing a little cake thing at the half time break.
