Thanks to all of you who were able to come out for Cajun dancing at the
Elmdale's Mardi Gras. Here is another chance for dance instruction and a
good time. A larger space, wooden dance floor, great instructors and
plenty of free dance time. Hope to see you there.

Music from South West Louisiana is the inspiration for this kind of
social dancing. This is party music and so, makes for a lively
inspiration for true social dancing. Michael Ball and Jody Benjamin will
be teaching the basics of Cajun Two Step, Waltz and Zydeco dancing.
These dances leave lots of room for loose interpretation. Mostly people
work the floor trading partners often and learning to lead and follow
with numerous partners. The basic foot pattern is easy to learn and fun
to do especially when there's good music to dance to.
For the free dance, Michael and Jody will provide recorded music from
their selection of music collected over many visits to the Cajun part of
the world.
This could be the start of something great for Ottawa dance floors!
