I have a terrible cold in my nose and throat that is more like a mini-flu. While I only stayed home from work on Monday, I've still got it and may still be contagious on Friday. Also, one of my housemates also has this bug and it's just too risky to have you all over this Friday. I agonized over this, hoping against hope that I would recover like a rocket, but while I am recovering, it's not that fast. Please accept my apologies - I got this bug on Sunday afternoon and didn't really know what hit me. I should have cancelled on Monday. If you're a regular song circler, please let me know that you got this message so I won't worry about such a late cancellation notice slipping past the regulars. Thanks, Carl -----Original Message----- From: song-circle-bounces+carls=cyberus.ca at lists.ifdo.ca [mailto:song-circle-bounces+carls=cyberus.ca at lists.ifdo.ca] On Behalf Of songadmin at canoemail.com Sent: Sunday, March 01, 2009 10:33 PM To: Song-circle at lists.ifdo.pugmarks.com Subject: [song-circle] Mar 6 Carl Stieren Hi Everybody Song Circle this Friday, March 6 at the home of Carl Stieren, 217 Plymouth St., Ottawa, tel (613) 563-7209. This is party music and so, makes for a lively inspiration for true social dancing. Michael Ball and Jody Benjamin will be teaching the basics of Cajun Two Step, Waltz and Zydeco dancing. These dances leave lots of room for loose interpretation. Mostly people work the floor trading partners often and learning to lead and follow with numerous partners. The basic foot pattern is easy to learn and fun to do especially when there's good music to dance to. For the free dance, Michael and Jody will provide recorded music from their selection of music collected over many visits to the Cajun part of the world. This could be the start of something great for Ottawa dance floors!
