Hello Songcirclers,

I have been hesitant to sign up to host because my new home in Vanier  
is quite a bit smaller than my old place in the Glebe. But I really  
miss hosting, so I am going to give it a try. It might be a bit  
squishy, but you are all welcome.

We may need some extra seating, so small folding chairs and/or  
cushions for floor sitting would be appreciated.

Here are the details:

184 Ethel Street, upstairs (side door off the driveway)
Friday, November 21
Potluck dinner around 6:30
Singing after dinner, with the usual break for coffee, tea and desserts

Directions:

 From the Queensway, take Vanier Parkway north past Montreal Road.  
Turn right at the next light, on Deschamps, pass Desrosiers (one way  
the wrong way) and turn left on Durocher, left on Carillon, right on  
Baribeau and right again on Ethel. My place is towards the end of the  
block on the right. If you consult a map it will make more sense.

 From points east you can take Montreal Road, going right on Hannah,  
left on Carillon and then as above.

On transit, you can take the #2 and get out at the stop after the  
Vanier Parkway, walking up Hannah to Ethel and turning left. Or take  
the #3, get out at Deschamps and turn left at Desrosiers, right on  
Carillon, left on Baribeau and right on Ethel.

A small note about the process:
Many of you have heard me talk about reading and memorizing, and this  
is not a directive but a suggestion: when someone else is leading a  
song, leave your reading glasses in your purse or pocket and have a  
go at learning orally. If you are leading, do what works for you, but  
if you go through some songs ahead of time you will be more  
comfortable even if you are still reading the lyrics. You may find it  
more satisfying to look at each other and listen to each other  
without reading, and you may find you can remember more than you  
thought you could.
